SILVER SPRING, MD. â The majority of a Food and Drug Administration advisory panel agreed that telmisartan, currently approved for treating hypertension, should be approved for reducing the risk of cardiovascular events in patients at high risk for such events, but only if they cannot tolerate treatment with ramipril.
